History of SwaraYoga
The Origin of a Transformative Practice
SwaraYoga was born from the visionary mind and deep spiritual inquiry of violin maestro Ganesh Rajagopalan. Drawing from a lifetime immersed in the nuances of Indian classical music, Ganesh ji recognized the profound connection between the ancient art of swara (musical notes) and the timeless practice of yoga and meditation.
His insight: just as breath and posture are integral to yoga, the chanting and repetition of swaras can become a powerful tool for self-discovery and healing.
The Evolution of SwaraYoga
Inspired by the Vedic tradition and the healing power of sound, Swarayoga began as a simple yet profound experiment—inviting music lovers to chant and meditate on musical notes in a group setting.
Through repeated practice, participants found themselves transported beyond the ordinary, experiencing moments of deep calm, joy, and unity.
What started as an exploration soon blossomed into a community movement, open to all who seek to elevate their understanding of music and themselves.

Swara Yoga- a journey to understand the SELF through the language of sound
The seed of Swara Yoga was planted years ago in the mind of founder Sri Ganesh Rajagopalan—a vision deeply rooted in the transformative power of music. While the idea had long existed, it was in 2024 that it truly came to life, as a vibrant community of soul-seeking individuals gathered to explore connection between music and meditation.
At its core, Swara Yoga is more than just a music festival— a journey inward. Where music becomes the medium for meditation and self-discovery. It invites us to listen deeply—not only to the notes and rhythms around us, but to the subtle symphony within.
